Mr. Demski Born in Nanticoke, PA in September 29 1929, later know as “Ski Demski” resided in Long Beach, CA, and traveled around with his World biggest flags. He founded “The World Largest Flag” program to bring patriotism, nationalism, and American sentiment back into our society. He done so for more than 15 years. His biggest American flag, called “Superflag” is 505ft. x 255ft, 3.000 lb, was made June 14 1992. Next biggest flags are: Superflag Jr. 47' x 82' , Superflag I 95' x 160', Superflag II 160' x 300' .

A Superflag was attached with steel cables to the Hoover Dam by U.S. officials, but it collapsed soon after making into Guinness Book as the World Biggest Flag. The flag hanging was arranged to mark the ’96 Olympic torch relay. “World Largest Flag” has many smaller, but also big –some the size of football field- flags used at numerous occasions, including Super Bowls, baseball games, political campaigns, military parties, the l ist go on and on. “Ski’s” flag was also at the 9.11 seen. Te Superflag requires some 500 peopple to set it up, “Ski” other big flags need 50-300 people.

Ski Demski also spread American patriotism by other ways, like his art, clothing, political involvement (including run for Mayor) and many tattoos at his body, one of which costed $ 100.000.00. He also had a bumper sticker business. Part of that money went to Alcohol Recovery Programs. “Ski” started drink heavily when he was a coal mines worker and had major work injury , but recovered from drinking in 1975. Making stickers helped him stay sober, as he said himself.

In 1980 he put 132 food high flagpole in front of his house in Long Beach. Since "Ski Demski" is of Polish descent, he called it "The Pole. The Pole whoever had always American flag on it, occasionally Polish. He Polish American, but didn’t supported local “Polish events” –such as miss Polonia California- because it wasn’t patriotic American wise. He wasn’t successful to build 3000 food high flagpole, because the city (after learning about the plans) changed the high limits on flagpoles.

“Ski” received plenty local and international recognitions, was invited to numerous community events, met with Pope twice. Some private contributions helped keep the patriotic ideas going. Many volunteered with “Ski Demski”. One of his ideas that never made it , was to unfurl the worlds largest Superflag from the International Space Station in space and leave it there. He wanted to help in the process from NASAMission Control center. Besides being know as patriotic American, as Pole, as “World Largest Flag” (which still exist in Long Beach), he was know as a holidays celebrating person. “Ski” participated in activities on Patrics Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, etc.

“Ski Demski” died in 2002 at his home. He was buried in the same glass made coffin that he tried when alive.
