The second Polish Beauty Pageants: Queen of Polonia International™ and Miss Polonia® California in Los Angeles took place on August 4th between 7:00 pm and 11:00 pm . Ten young ladies of Polish ancestry and from Poland created a group of grand finalists. The crown and title of Queen of Polonia 2001, went to 23 years old Olga Dojlidko, student from Poznan, Poland. The crown and title of Miss Polonia® California 2001 went to 20 years old Ewelina Szymanowicz, student, living in Orange County, California.

Program of the evening was conducted by Marta Michel, first ever elected Miss Polonia California. and Marek Dzida, the president and organizer of Queen of Polonia International. The judges panel was consistent of: Alicja Bobrowska, the first Polish Miss Polonia; Janet Kocyan, pianist & instructor of music at Harbor College; Wojciech Kocyan, pianist & professor of piano at Loyola Marymont College; Boleslaw Meluch, Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Los Angeles; Marek Piatkowski-Nazarro, artist; Beata Piotrowski, film producer & director.

Participants in the contest were judged for their elegance, personality, attractive presentation of their grace and charm and quality of the answers contest questions.  Finalists present themselves in free-choice outfit, swimsuit and evening dress.
The entertainment was provided by singers: Aneta Augustyn and Agata Gajczak and folk group Krakusy, & flameco dancers. Disco night at the Hellada Gallery concluded this year pageant.

International beauty pageant Queen of Polonia™ is open to ladies of Polish nationality or ancestry between the ages of 18 and 27 living around the World. Pageant Miss Polonia® California is open to ladies of Polish nationality or ancestry between the ages of 18 and 26, never married, living in California.  Both beauty pageants will be continued every year. Candidates & sponsors for next year competition will be able to register as of right now.
