Przemyslaw B. Sobanski was born in Warsaw, Poland, on October 30,1974.
While growing up, he endured more than the usual share of hardship imaginable to
most people. It is somewhat of a miracle that he survived and is healthy today.
At the age of 15, Przemyslaw began writing poetry, painting,
and drawing with the intent of publishing his work in the future. At 17, he
wrote his first articles for the school newspaper as well as for youth and
grassroots magazines. Before long, his articles began to be published in local
newspapers. Driven by a fundamental belief in the freedom of speech, he started
studying journalism. Several of his short programs were broadcast on radio
stations. Przemyslaw's interest in social and environmental issues developed at
an early age when he witnessed a dog suffering a slow death after being hit by a
tram. For three days, the dog lay dying at a busy intersection while none of the
onlookers bothered to help. Przemyslaw has always been motivated by doing what
he believes is right and has never sought personal or monetary gain for his
social and environmental endeavors. Indeed, Przemyslaw paid a catastrophic price
for his beliefs when his Warsaw apartment was set on fire destroying the entire
collection of his personal writing and art. The arsonists were never prosecuted
for their crime.
In January 1995, Przemyslaw came to the United States and
settled in Southern California. He chose the nickname "Bob" to avoid the
inherent linguistic difficulties that the pronunciation of Przemyslaw posed for
Americans. As a newly arrived immigrant, Bob forged ahead and also helped others
whenever possible. He co-organized various Polish social events in Southern
California and changed the direction of his studies to computers.
He can say "no" in opposition to something he doesn't believe in, as well as in his
personal life. For example, being in U.S. for a while, after years of smoking, Bob quitted
cigarettes in 20 minutes and become vegetarian in a half day.
His vegetarianism lasted for few years, until his went under very critical
surgical operation (appendix evaporated) in summer of 2005. He found very difficult
to find a second opinion doctor, which he much needed. During and shortly after his
hospital stay, couple of people he trusted to death, instead of carry on with help,
harmed him by what they did. Bob still doesn’t know why they did so.......
He recovered well from the hospital, mainly due his strong organism.
About sexual fantasies(?), you ladies ask. He has a great fantasy, including kinky and bondage stuff,
mostly fake of course, just pretending it is happening in that way. Bob also likes a long, long plays and giving erotic massages.
He occasionally would watch films with adult content but not those strait porn movies (which he does not find interesting at all),
rather some action/fiction with added sexuality. Bob’s erotic fantasy would be enough to write zillions books of different topics.
Bob likes to travel
and see new places, especially those less commercialized. Traveling became sort
of his hobby. He visited places in 19 U.S. states and in few countries in Europe.
By traveling with company, gathering information ahead of time and with well planning, he significantly reduces
travel spending,
which allow him to see more. He shares photos with everyone thru his website. If time permits,
Bob also make and add tourist info next to his pictures. Those information are not sponsored by restaurants,
hotels, etc, its pour info about places worth seeing in the area.
In June 1998, Bob co-founded the Polish American
Environmental Alliance (PAEA) that focused on environmental issues in Poland, as
well as outside global concerns. Group was dissolved in Nov. ’02 with the idea of coming back
in future. After loosing its first fight for St. Anna Mountains, P.A.E.A. achieved successes
including: stopped some developments in Tatra mountains, in propaganda of forest issues in
eastern Poland, several victories on smaller ground, presence in major U.S. and Polish media
(including front pages), also got its part in American campaigns.
In 2001/2002 & 2004, Bob served term in the board of directors of the Polish
American Congress of Southern California.
Currently he focuses mostly on work and family (his first kid was born at June 2007), occasionally helping grassroots
groups or writing article about issue of his concern.
Bob says, sometimes he is loosing opportunity in many life's aspects, which
by his own words "if not missed, might change a lot". While taking care of some family members issues
(he is left alone helping 2 closed family members without help of others) and doing things he had to in his less
fortunate times, Bob missed few changes to improved his financial situation. That included offers made to him, action
he could take, and one time situations to take advantage of.
Sometimes he didn’t take opportunities due his laziness at the moment.
As he continues to strive toward his
goals, Bob always welcomes criticism. Rather than become angry or worry about
the inevitable difficulties of life, he chooses to smile instead.
