24 days after police took protesters off the trees, activists came back. 20 000 trees is already gone (perhaps 2 days of work), now highways making companies wants to demolish a house to build freeway through its territory. At June 30, 5 activists barricade themselves in this house. Later on, to be saver, activists went on the roof. Large police groups stayed around. 70 people joined protest in the next house (smaller one). At night, when there was just a few policemen, about 10 more activists went inside the house. Meantime you could find a flyers about good job with place to live. The phone # on those flyers was to 2 corporation involved in build H-4 international highway, Wolfgang Busse & Deutsch Asfalt. The flyers was false but so many phone calls interrupted work in companies offices. Protest is supported by many organizations. Government plans for freeway allows to cut off 185 00 old trees.details & pictures are hereProtesters remained in houses even after an excavators tried to demolished it on July 2nd. There is against the law to demolish house with people in it, but again, police didn't do nothing to enforce law. An excavator broke the wall of smaller building, that almost kill one of man inside the house. Protesters afraid of their life threw rocks against excavator, the driver gave up. With time more people went inside the biggest house. Next afternoon security guards with help from excavators, went in the smaller house and took protesters away. Because of possibility of action to take activists away from the other house, at late afternoon 06.03, protester informed police that if the action will be taken by anti terrorist groups, there will be just passive resistance. But if the action will be taken with an excavators, protesters will fight using rocks and bottles with gasoline. That's because excavators' work is dangerous for activists life. About 11 am. at July 4th. 30 security guards finally got in the house (but without excavators help). Guards carry out each protester at the time to put them in the vans (about 10 people in each one). Activist were singing and shaking hands. Protesters were drove away 15 to 18 miles and free. Guards wasn't that brutal like during the sit tree protest, this time tv cameras watched all action. Police didn't do absolutely nothing, even when they were asking by some of activists being pushed and pulled by security guards. There will be no prosecution case against protesters.

In the end of Aug '98 ecoactivists began a court case against security agency, which hired the guards who beaten protesters in May. Court ruled in favor of defendent.
In February '99 officials said the cost of building freeway A4 will be near 30% higer thn expected. Major reasons for it are problems with buying private lands and floats. since the begini of A4 project, enviromentalists were ignored by government when they showed that (previous) cost will be higher. Look like sombody with purpose lied about real cost to avoid taxpayers protests.
3 month after the protest, popular in Poland magazine "Wprost" published pool about the issue. 34.1% supported environmentalist, 24.8% dissaproved greens actions, 25.7% didn't ahve an opinion, 18.1% forgot or didn't know the case.
